Guide: the refrigerator
A 1,024 Wh power station runs a fridge with a 550 kWh-a-year EnergyGuide label for about 12 hours. A 2 kWh unit runs the same fridge about 24 hours, and an Explorer 2000 Plus with one added battery pack about 49 hours.
Our arithmetic from stated capacity and an EnergyGuide figure, Oct 7, 2026. See source

The FTC's EnergyGuide label, the yellow tag on refrigerators and freezers, tells you how much energy the appliance uses1. Divide the yearly kilowatt-hours by 365 for a daily figure, then by 24 for the average draw. A 550 kWh label works out to 1.51 kWh a day, or about 63 W on average.
Then do the same sum as any other load. Usable energy is the stated capacity x 0.75. A 1,024 Wh Jackery HomePower 1000 Plus v2 gives about 768 Wh; 768 / 63 = about 12 hours5. A 2,042.8 Wh Jackery Explorer 2000 Plus gives about 1,532 Wh, about 24 hours. Add one 2,042.8 Wh Battery Pack 2000 Plus and the total of 4,085.6 Wh gives about 3,064 Wh, about 49 hours67.
No label? Utilities Kingston's chart lists a fridge at 500 W running about 150 hours a month, 75 kWh a month2. That is 2.5 kWh a day, an average of about 104 W, typical of an older or larger fridge. We use it as the heavy case in the table.
Running watts decide the minimum size. Average draw sets the hours; the compressor's running draw sets whether the station can run the fridge at all. Otter Tail Power lists 400 W for an ENERGY STAR 19 cu ft frost-free fridge and 500 W for a 17 cu ft non frost-free model3. A 300 W inverter such as the Jackery Explorer 300's is below that12.
Slide to the station's stated capacity. The panel shows hours for a fridge labeled 550 kWh a year, and for a 700 kWh fridge.

Hours. Average watts: 45.7 (400 kWh), 62.8 (550 kWh), 79.9 (700 kWh), 104.2 (2.5 kWh a day). The Lion Summit's 530 W output is close to a fridge's 400 to 500 W running draw; check the fridge's start draw first.
FoodSafety.gov says a refrigerator keeps food safe for up to 4 hours during an outage, and a full freezer holds a safe temperature for about 48 hours (24 if half full) with the door closed4. So for an outage of an evening, a closed door may be all you need. Past about 4 hours, a station that covers the fridge for 12 to 24 hours is what saves the food.
Keep the door shut either way. Every opening lets cold air out, and the compressor has to run longer to win it back, which shortens the battery's hours.
On our October 2 read, the Anker SOLIX S2000 cost about $338 per kWh of stated capacity and the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max about $4291011. On October 7, the Jackery HomePower 1000 Plus v2 was $629.00 (about $614 per kWh) and the Lion Safari $1,399.00 (about $868 per kWh)58. If the fridge is the only job, the cheaper units do it for less.
The pricier units sell on other strengths. The HomePower 1000 Plus v2 expands to 11 kWh, switches over in under 10 ms and recharges in 50 minutes5. The Explorer 2000 Plus takes battery packs at $799.00 for 2,042.8 Wh, about $391 per added kWh7. The Safari has 3,000 W of output and a TT-30 RV outlet8.

Yes, if its output covers the compressor (400 to 500 W running in two utility charts23). A 1,024 Wh unit runs a 550 kWh-a-year fridge about 12 hours (1,024 x 0.75 / 63).
About 24 hours for a 550 kWh-a-year fridge, about 19 hours for a 700 kWh fridge and about 15 hours for an older fridge using 2.5 kWh a day (our arithmetic at 75 percent usable).
No. A 300 W inverter such as the Jackery Explorer 300's is below a fridge's running draw312. Compact units suit routers and phones; see compact power stations.
Add the two labels. A 550 kWh fridge plus a 250 kWh chest freezer is 800 kWh a year, about 91 W on average, so a 2,042.8 Wh unit lasts about 17 hours (1,532 / 91).
Maybe not. FoodSafety.gov gives a closed fridge up to 4 hours and a full freezer about 48 hours4. A station earns its place in outages longer than that.
